She worshipped and served others with the Savannah Church of Christ. She was a lover of all kinds of music, as well as talented musician and singer. In the Savannah area, she was a favored performer at community events and fundraisers. She also loved to travel and explore new places with her family.
She is survived by her husband, David Burgess; a son, Elliott Burgess; stepsons, Jason and James Burgess; daughters-in-law, Gretchen and Melissa Burgess; five grandchildren, Andrew Moody, Jacob Burgess, Lily Grace Ludlam, Collin Burgess and Annabeth Burgess; and sister, Jennie Jones Fletcher.
