Tera Shelby Irvin, 91, of Mountain View, Missouri, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 9, while at Mountain View Healthcare, Mountain View, Missouri.
She was born Sept. 25, 1925, in Hardin County, to Clyde Walker Shelby and Mary F. Tucker Shelby.
She was united in marriage to Andy Jack Irvin on April 20, 1945, and the couple had celebrated 71 blessed years together. Three sons were born to this union, David, Bob and John.
Tera is survived by her husband, Jack; three sons, David Irvin and wife Bonnie of Hudson, North Carolina, Bob Irvin and wife Joni of Mountain View, and John Irvin and wife Barbie of Republic, Missouri; eight grandchildren, David Irvin Jr., Chris Irvin, Matthew Irvin, James Irvin, Jacob Irvin, Rachel Irvin, Andy Irvin and Tonya Prost; one sister, Lura Volner of Cordova, Tennessee; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Four siblings, Leonard Shelby, Milton Shelby, Clinton Shelby and Edith Franks precede her in death.
Tera loved children and shared that love by teaching kindergarten for 17 years in Tennessee before moving to Missouri in 1994. She also had a great love of flowers. She enjoyed preparing large meals for family gatherings. Tera was a member of United Methodist Church.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services was held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 13, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri with Dr. John Noble officiating. Interment followed in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mountain View. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
