Brenda Smith, age 60, of Michie, was born July 8, 1956, in Corinth, Mississippi.
She enjoyed writing in her journal, dancing and singing along to any Al Green or Marvin Gaye music. Most importantly, Brenda loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and family.
She departed this life at home on Sunday, March 12, in Michie.
She is survived by her mother, Phyllis Bennett Phillips of Selmer; Eddie Joe Smith who was married to Brenda for 15 years and still remained close; a daughter, Trinity Nichole Chambers of Michie; a son, Jeffery Lee Gordon Jr. and wife Candace of Savannah; two sisters, Patricia Hollin Churchwell of Michie and Terry Jo Hollin Pruitt and husband Jimmy of Stantonville; four grandchildren, Mallori Willoughby and husband Cody, Hannah Perkins, Jeffery Lee Gordon III and Kaisen Avery Gordon; two stepgrandchildren, Bradley Tacker and Romie Tacker; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Dorsey Glenn Hollin; a brother, James Michael Hollin; and a stepson, Jonathon Bradley Tacker.
Services were held on Tuesday, March 14, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Adamsville with Steven Wilbanks officiated. Burial followed in Lebanon Cemetery at Michie.
