Herman “Gene” Dickerson, 63, of Savannah, died on Saturday, Dec. 30.
He was the son of Jessie Herman and Nancy Louise Morris Dickerson who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Beverly Kaye Shelby, who survives.
Mr. Dickerson worked for Angelica in Savannah and Landau Sewing in Selmer before going to work as a machinist for Nicko Sewing in Stanton, Tennessee. He served his country as a member of the National Guard and was a member of Savannah Foursquare Church.
In addition to his wife Beverly, he is survived by his stepchildren, Brandi Sharit of Adamsville and Tina Tyler, Christopher Sullivan and Byron Hudson, all of Savannah; one brother, Terry Dickerson of Savannah; and two stepgrandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Goshen Cemetery in Savannah with Thurman Shutt officiating.
