Dorothy Brewer, of Adamsville, departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 6, at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 18 days.
She was born on Oct. 19, 1924, in Hardeman County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Edgar Lee and Nona Vaughn Taylor. On July 16, 1975, she was united in marriage to George P. Brewer, who preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 1978.
Dorothy had worked as a machine operator at Garan Factory. She attended Christian Assembly Pentecostal Church in Adamsville. Dorothy enjoyed hunting, fishing and crossword puzzles. She always took care of her friends, and enjoyed taking them to the doctor and being their caregiver.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Jerry Ganus and wife Doris; grandchild, Sondra Thorne; and great-grandchild, Lydia Thorne.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother, Ed Taylor; and sister, Peggy Taylor McCoy.
Services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with W.D. McCollum officiating. Burial followed in Crump Cemetery.
