Ewin L. Stroud, 93, of Savannah, died on Saturday, Jan. 6, in Savannah.
He was born in Morrilton, Arkansas, the son of the late Calvin and Pauline Welch Stroud. He was united in marriage to Mary Frances Tucker, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Stroud worked as a foreman for 26 years at Brown Shoe Company. He also was the owner and operator of Stroud’s Store for 10 years. He was a member of Wesley’s Chapel United Methodist Church, where he was a past lay leader.
He is survived by his son, Jimmy Stroud of Savannah; one grandchild, Michelle Greer; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Cleo Boyd of Wisconsin.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Freddie Stroud; and four sisters, Midge Ralph, Terry Comer, Wanda Clay and Glenda Perry.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, Jan. 7, at Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery in Savannah with Jim Wright officiating.
