Alma Jean Welch, 76, of Hardin County, died Friday, March 28. She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Frederick Lee and Myrtle Ethel Tacker Cook. She was united in marriage to Daniel Welch, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Welch was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of God. Services were held Sunday, March 30, at Shackelford Chapel with Rev. Ronnie White officiating. Burial was in Wesley's Chapel Cemetery. She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Jean Crotts and Sherry Joyce Russell, both of Savannah; two sons, Jimmy Clark and Jeffrey Lynn Welch, both of Savannah; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Daniel Welch Jr.; six sisters, Josephine Cook, Ollie Hinton, Eura Bivens, Betty Cummings, Ella Mae Cook and Louise Bryant; and six brothers, George, Earnest, Johnny, Press, Ledford and Cecil Cook.

Your password is your subscription number. Your subscription number is the first set of numbers above your name on the mailing label of the paper you receive each week. It may be up to 4 numbers long. It may be as short as 1 number. You will have the opportunity to change your password when you sign in. You can change you password by clicking on the "Edit Profile" link that appears once you have logged in.
