UPDATE, Aug. 27, 4:40 p.m.– In a robo-call being made to parents, Hardin County Director of Schools Michael Davis is announcing that the suspicious device which resulted in today's evacuation of the high school and early dismissal of classes system-wide is a "toy hand grenade."

Aug. 27– Hardin County and Savannah law enforcement officers, along with an official from the Department of Homeland Security, are currently sweeping Hardin County High School.

Two bomb-sniffing dogs are inside the school on Pickwick Street in Savannah.
