Officers salute departed patrolman with 'Sea of Blue'

Aug. 20– Law enforcement officers from across the region gathered in Savannah last night to pay their respects to a departed fellow officer, Jamison T. Woody, in a ceremonial “Sea of Blue” procession

Woody, a patrolman with the Savannah Police Department, was killed in the early morning hours of Friday, Aug. 15,  in an off-duty vehicular crash.

Over 60 patrol cars, five helicopters and numerous motorcycles representing different law agencies across Tennessee and Mississppi arrived at the Savannah Church of Christ for a short ceremony at which Woody’s badge was retired.
