Body of murder-suicide victim found near Savannah

Sept. 9– The body of McNairy County resident Nancy Weeks was discovered Sunday afternoon in a wooded area on Tenn. 128 just outside of Savannah with multiple gunshot wounds in an apparent murder-suicide, officials said.

The McNairy County Sheriff’s Department said a search for Weeks, 53, began Friday when her former companion Dale Ervin was found dead of an apparent suicide in Hardeman County, having ingested poison.

Inside the vehicle where Ervin’s body was located, deputies with the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department discovered Weeks’ cell phone and contacted McNairy County law enforcement.

It was learned that Weeks had last used the cell phone in Bath Springs around 7:30 p.m.

Deputies went to check on Weeks at her McNairy County home and were told by her son-in-law she had gone to Clifton to attend a concert.
