Broomcorn Festival
will be held Sept. 18, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., at the Selmer City Park, located at Hwy. 64 and Hwy. 45 intersection. More than 30 demonstrating folk artists will be there, including blacksmithing, basket making, grist milling and pottery. Live music all day, starting at 10 a.m. All children from infant to eighth grade get in free. No children should be dropped off. Organizers say to bring a lawn chair. Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Park
Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Park,
Pinson, Tenn., will host the 28th annual Archaeofest on Sept. 18, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 19, from noon until 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The event will include Native American dancers and drummers, hay wagon tours, story telling, foods and crafts, and birds of prey and reptile programs.
