Carolyn Evans Lee was born March 4, 1945 in Clifton, to the union of the late Royal Young and Eunice Mae Brashier Evans. She was united in marriage to Harold Lewis Lee on June 1, 1963. Mr. Lee preceded her in death on May 2, 2011.
Mrs. Carolyn was a member of the Wayne Furnace Church of Christ in Waynesboro, loved her flower gardens, watching birds, and will be remembered for her time spent at Angelica, TN River Apparel, and Piggly Wiggly. However, her greatest joy in this life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her love for children went beyond her own family as she spent many years caring for children entrusted to her as a babysitter.
Mrs. Carolyn departed this life on Monday, Sept. 9, 2024 in Nashville, making her stay in this life some 79 years, 6 months and 6 days.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Thomas Edward Lee and wife Judy of Clifton; Carol Ann Lee of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Victoria Ashley Pope and husband Kyle of Jackson, Tenn.; John Carter Lewis Bates of Waynesboro; Jessica Elaine Duncan and husband Larry of Clifton; Christopher Ray Donegan and wife Elizabeth of Linden, Tenn.; Michael Brandon Donegan and wife Jayla of Linden, Tenn.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Royal Young Evans and Eunice Mae Brashier Evans and her husband of 47 years, Harold Lewis Lee.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 11, beginning at 1 p.m., at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Cary Crews officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be given to Wayne Furnace Church of Christ.
Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation is honored to serve the Lee Family.
