Hardin County Mayor Kevin Davis issued a proclamation  to declare April as Sexual Assault Awareness month in the county.
Davis presented the proclamation to WRAP officials, who were joined by other vested community members on Thursday, April 17, at the Hardin County Courthouse in Savannah, 465 Main St.
According to WRAP officials, its Sexual Assault Response Program is designed to empower individuals in their healing process, promote awareness, and ensure survivors have access to the care they deserve.
WRAP’s specially trained advocates are dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment where survivors can share their experiences and receive the assistance they need to navigate the complex aftermath of sexual assault.
The organization believes in empowering survivors and providing a compassionate, non-judgmental space where healing can begin.
Davis said, “I cannot begin to thank you for the services you provide to sexual assault victims. Hardin County appreciates WRAP’s dedication to help those who have experienced being sexually assaulted or abused.”
WRAP serves 20 counties in Tennessee including Hardin and McNairy Counties. More information about services provided by the organization is available online at wraptn.org.
