James Coleman Holland 82, of Bath Springs, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 1, the son of the late Lilburn Coleman and Vernettia Velrea Meek Holland.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Geneva Bingham, who preceded her husband in death.
James served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy. He later retired after over 30 years as a maintenance supervisor for International Paper Company in New Johnsonville, Tennessee. He was a member of the American Legion Tennessee Post 0243 in Scotts Hill, Tennessee.
James is survived by his adopted son, Jotham “Pote” Waller; sister, Karen Skinner; brothers, Jere Holland, Denny Holland and Tony Holland ; two stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his stepchildren, Roy Willis and Gary Willis; and sister, Yvonne Evans; brother, Keith Holland.
Memorial services were held on Monday, Sept. 9, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with Gene Hanna officiating. Burial followed at Milledgeville Cemetery in Milledgeville.
