Kristi Lynn Godwin Armstrong, 56. of Savannah, received her ultimate promotion to her forever home on Thursday, Dec. 12. She was born on June 24, 1968, to Lonnie and Bonnie Rich Godwin. On March 14, 1998, she was married to Robert Lynn (Bob) Armstrong.
She leaves her two sons, Zack Armstrong and wife, Miranda and Luke Armstrong and wife, Kristina to cherish her memories. She also leaves her five precious grandchildren, Carson, Camden, Tyler, Lilian and Abigail. She leaves her father, Lonnie Godwin; one brother, Patrick Godwin and wife, Karen; many nieces and nephews; and family members.
Kristi was preceded in death by her sister, Angie Godwin Carr; sister, Lora Doreen Godwin; her mother; Bonnie Godwin; and her grandparents, Chester and Pearl Rich, and Grady and Marie Godwin.
She was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church.
Kristi was a breast cancer survivor. Her first diagnosis was in November 2005. That is when she started her battle. She continued to fight for 14 years. Just when she thought she had conquered it, it returned in her brain and spine in March 2019.
Kristi was an author of her book “A Clean Heart and Spare Parts,” published in February 2008, and she published an updated version in 2020, “A Clean Heart and Spare Parts-The Journey Continues”.
She had many speaking opportunities to share her story. She loved to sing and she taught children at church for over 25 years.
Kristi assisted her husband, Bob, with Armstrong Studio from 1998 to 2003. She has served with The American Cancer Society-Reach to Recovery from 2008-2014, giving support to ladies with breast cancer. She worked at Woodmen Life from 2015-2020 until her cancer re-occurrence caused her to retire. She was involved with Gideon Auxiliary in October 2014 and served as Vice President from 2017 through 2019.
Her favorite scriptures are Isaiah 49:16, John 14:27, John 16:33 and Nahum 1:7.

Memorial services were held on Monday, Dec. 16, at Mount Hermon Baptist Church in Savannah, with Artie Rivers, Charles Bevis and Cindy Inman officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Savannah.
