Lowell Blakney, 85, of Counce, passed away on Monday, Sept. 2, the son of the late Raymond and Eula Carson Blakney.
Lowell was united in marriage to Mamie Blakney, who survives.
Mr. Blakney retired from Packaging Corporation of America where he worked as a maintenance foreman for paper machines. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Counce.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Angie Blakney and Carol Blakney; one grandchild; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Lowell was preceded in death by his son, William Lowell Blakney; sister, Janice Swift; and brother, Ray Blakney.
A graveside service was held on Friday, Sept. 6, at Shanghai Cemetery in Counce, with Paul Childers officiating.
