Sallye Kate Davis Austin, 94, of Savannah, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 10. She was born on March 26, 1930, in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Lee L. and Hester Franks Davis.
In June of 1960, she was united in marriage to Gene Austin, who survives.
Sallye owned and operated Savannah Processing before her retirement. She enjoyed refinishing antique furniture and tending to her gardens and flowers. She was a member of Foursquare Gospel and also attended Love & Truth Church in Savannah, Tennessee.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Gene Austin; son, Davy Austin; grandchildren, Joshua Luke Austin, David Jacob Austin and Leah Elisabeth Austin; and great-grandchildren, Emerson Lee Austin and Bowen Reese Dycus.
In addition to her parents, Sallye was preceded in death by her daughter, Annette Davis; brothers, Warren G. Davis, Lee L. Davis and Bobby C. Davis; and sisters, Blanche Lewis, Polly White and Myrtle Tanner.
Memorial services were held on Monday, Dec. 16, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with Rev. James Fitts and Davy Austin officiating. Burialfollowed at Memory Gardens in Savannah.
