Shirley Reathiford Stricklin, 87, of Savannah, passed away on Sunday, July 21. She was born on Oct. 14, 1936, in Florence, Alabama, the daughter of the late Tom Hassell and Clare Heard Reathiford.
On Feb. 15, 1973, she was united in marriage to L.C. Stricklin, who preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1996.
Shirley was a supervisor for Savannah Manufacturing. She was a member of White’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church, where she was lovingly known as “Ma” by the kids and “grandma Shirley.” Shirley loved shopping, especially for Black Friday, going camping and fishing, gardening flowers, her cat “Lucy”, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam White; “second” daughter, Kay White; stepson Richie; and stepdaughters, Betty, Barbara, Sue and Janie.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Reathiford.
Memorial services were held on Friday, July 26, at White’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Savannah, with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial followed at Cromwells Crossroads Cemetery in Collinwood, Tennessee.
