Back to school giveaway event is “all about nutrition”

Sisters Impacting Savannah (SIS) is inviting the community to their 9th Annual Back to School Explosion this weekend.
“This event is our way of investing in the future of our community by ensuring students have the tools and resources they need to begin the school year with confidence,” said Margaret Steele, Founder of SIS. “We invite everyone to come out for a fun-filled day of community, education, and support.”
The theme of this year’s event is “All About Nutrition,” encouraging healthy lifestyles and wellness for children and families.
This free community event is designed to help students prepare for the upcoming school year while promoting health, wellness, and academic success. Families will enjoy a day filled with valuable resources, entertainment, and giveaways.
Free services and giveaways include: Backpacks, school supplies, books, physicals, health screenings, immunizations, haircuts, manicures, athletic shoes, calculators, prizes, crafts for kids, and informational resources for children and families
Returning this year is the popular ‘Teachers’ Corner,’ where teachers can receive free classroom supplies while supplies last.
Attendees can also enjoy: food, fun games, giveaways, and much more.
Children need to be present to receive the supplies and the event is being held at Central Bank, 485 Wayne Road, Savannah, on Saturday, July 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
