Boy, 4, drowns in Indian Creek in Hardin County

A 4-year-old boy drowned Saturday at a swimming hole on Indian Creek in Olive Hill near Low Water Bridge, Hardin County Sheriff Johnny Alexander confirmed.

According to the Hardin County Fire Department, first responders were dispatched to the scene at 5:40 p.m. following a report that a child who could not swim had not been seen in about 15 minutes, but he was not in the water at that time.

A Hardin County Fire Department diver found the boy in 6-8 feet of murky water, but it is believed he had been submerged for about an hour.
