Intermittent one-way traffic, lane closures

Expect construction delays crossing Pickwick Dam Bridge

The Tennessee Department of Transportation announced that starting next week there will be temporary lane closures on Tenn. 128 over Pickwick Dam Bridge to accommodate work on the bridge deck.
The closures will occur for multiple weeks as needed and “are necessary to keep the workers and drivers safe while the bridge work is happening,” TDOT said.
Beginning Aug. 19, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, the lane closure will be flagged intermittently in the north- and southbound lanes. One lane will always remain open, TDOT noted.
TDOT reminds drivers to check road conditions before leaving for their destination. TDOT also reminds motorists of “The Move Over Law” passed in 2006 which carries a penalty for violation of up to 30 days in jail and a maximum fine of up to $500.
