Baker leading the state’s school boards association this year

The Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) announced its 2026 Board of Directors during the closing session of the TSBA Annual Convention held in November, and Hardin County’s School Board Vice-Chairman David Baker will have a leading role this year.
It was announced at the meeting that this year’s TSBA Officers are:• President David Baker of Hardin County

Vice-Chairman of Hardin County’s School Board will serve as the state’s school board president this year
Vice-Chairman of Hardin County’s School Board will serve as the state’s school board president this year
• President-Elect Dr. Lee Carter of Huntingdon Special
• Vice President Michelle McKissack of Memphis-Shelby County
• Treasurer Scott Gillenwaters of Anderson County
• Immediate Past President Jayson McDonald of White County
TSBA District Directors are:
• Delta Director Scott Benjamin of Arlington
• East Director Laura McLean of Oak Ridge
• Mid-Cumberland Director Steve Haley of Dickson County
• Northwest Director Steve Vantrease of Weakley County
• Northeast Director Melissa Woods of Kingsport
• South Central Director Pat Welsh of Tullahoma
• Southeast Director Carolyn Ingram of Cleveland
• Southwest Director Bobby Henderson of Hardeman County
• Upper Cumberland Director Kim Cravens of Putnam County
At-Large members are:

TSBA is a statewide, nonprofit organization. The TBSA is a federation of all the state’s school boards.
TSBA’s mission is to assist school boards in effectively governing school districts. Through the years, TSBA has helped school boards and their members reach their highest potential through Association programs, meetings and services.
