Hardin County is ringing in the Fourth of July with not one, but three explosive fireworks celebrations — all part of the nationwide America 250 commemoration of our nation’s 250th birthday! This star-spangled weekend promises unforgettable moments for families, visitors, and patriots across the region. Pickwick Landing State Park will light up the night sky with a breathtaking fireworks display on Saturday, July 4, beginning at 9 p.m. The fireworks will launch from Sandy Beach near the dam, creating a dazzling spectacle visible across Pickwick lake and surrounding areas. As the shells burst overhead, tune your radio to 93.5 FM WKWX to enjoy a synchronized soundtrack to patriotic music, perfectly timed to the pyrotechnic show. “We are thrilled to continue our beloved Fourth of July tradition here at Pickwick Landing State Park as part of the America 250 celebration,” said Hardin County Tourism Director Beth Pippin. “This year’s show is more spectacular than ever – a true tribute to our nation’s enduring spirit.” For 2026, the Hardin County CVB has once again partnered with High-Tech Special Effects, Inc. to deliver a $25,000 fireworks extravaganza packed with bigger bursts, enhanced choreography, and dazzling new effects. “We aim to grow the ‘oohhs and ahhhhs’ every year,” said Pippin. “This year’s show is our most ambitious yet – more bang, more color, more emotion. It’s our gift to the community and a proud moment for Hardin County in this historic America 250 year.” All day long, Friends of Pickwick Landing State Park will host family-friendly festivities around the Lodge and Circle Beach area. Enjoy food vendors, craft-booths, ranger-led activities, and outdoor fun for all ages – making it the perfect destination to celebrate America’s birthday in true Tennessee style. Safety remains a top priority. Pickwick Landing State Park manager Andy Wright reminds all guests: “Please be safe and responsible. Law enforcement and park personnel from TWRA,TVA,THP, and the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department will be on-site both on land and water to ensure a smooth and secure event.” Important reminders: • Sandy Beach will be CLOSED ALL DAY to the public. • The dog park will be closed all day. • The Circle area will close to inbound traffic at 6:00 p.m. • No access is permitted on or near any sectioned-off areas of the TVA Dam. • In front of Sandy Beach area and the transient dock will be off limits starting at 7 p.m. • Spectators can enjoy prime views from the Lodge area, Circle Beach, golf course hillside, playground, and Shelter One hillside. And the fun doesn’t stop at Pickwick! The City of Saltillo will also host its own Fourth of July fireworks display on Saturday, July 4, lighting up the sky at Saltillo River Park.The Gillis Mills community will celebrate farm-style also on Saturday evening, July 4. With three booming shows in one night, Hardin County will shine from one end to the other – a triple salute to liberty in this landmark America 250 year.
