Celebrate spring with free hike at Pickwick Landing State Park

Posted

Longer days, warmer weather and the emerging spring wildflowers are sure signs that spring is here.

Rangers at all 56 state parks in Tennessee, including Pickwick Landing State Park in Hardin County, are offering free guided hikes on Saturday, March 23.

Tennessee State Parks said the spring hike is a great opportunity to shed the winter blahs, make new friends and explore Tennessee State Parks’ natural side.

All hikes are guided by park staff who can speak to the natural, cultural and historical treasures that Tennessee State Parks has to offer.

Pickwick Park’s 1.5 mile hike on the Island Loop Trail is rated easy to moderate. Meet at Cabin 9. The 90 minute hike starts at 2 p.m., and participants should wear appropriate attire and bring water. Leashed dogs are welcome.
