As Hardin countians look to the polls on Election Day (Thursday), only 3.4% of the county’s 17,382 registered voters voted early, according to the local Election Commission.
On Aug. 1, polls in Hardin County will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., including at the newly reopened Saltillo precinct at the Saltillo storm shelter, 47680 Tenn. 69.
Of the 586 ballots cast early, 486 or 82.9% were in the Republican primary and 91 or 15.5% in the Democratic primary. Thirteen voters participated only in the General Election.
The Hardin County General Election includes Assessor of Property, Board of Education seats for Districts 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9, Road Board Districts 1 and 2, and the Hardin County Commission District 9 seat to fulfill an unexpired term.
