Hardin County Agricultural Fair kicks off Monday

The annual Hardin County Agricultural Fair begins on Monday, Sept. 17.

Attractions include livestock shows, exhibits, carnival rides and much more.

With the theme “Country Pride... County Wide,” the Hardin County Agricultural Fair has one admission price, which gets a person in the gate, access to arena events along with the exhibits and free rides. It excludes food and carnival games.

“We have a good line-up this year featuring several new events,” said Shelia Bomar, Hardin County Agricultural Fair Board spokeswoman. “We look forward to seeing you and your family at the fair.”

Monday night, the fair opens with two special events, Predator Racing Monster Truck Show featuring Predator, Hot Rod Harry, Full Boar and Reptoid and mini trucks Mini Predator and Mini King Cobra at 7 p.m.; there will be a free ride truck for kids beginning between 6-6:30 p.m.; and beauty pageants starting at 6:30 p.m. Additional beauty pageants are on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., and then the Junk Car Jump and Run at 7 p.m.

Friday night’s event is the USA Pullers Truck and Tractor Pull.

Wednesday is Gospel Night with Adamsville Freewill Baptist Church. Marvin Morrow and Mike Hunter will speak and Marvin Morrow and the Thomas Family will sing.

Two nights of live music entertainment at the pavilion is something the fair has not seen, and these two bands promise to rock the socks off those in attendance this year.

Thursday, Sept. 20 from 6-8 p.m., features Hardin Coundy High School’s “Wired” with the Calvary Rodeo at 7 p.m. and Friday night from 6-8 the music of Bri Alexander.

Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. is the annual Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show, with special guest from the Memphis Street Outlaws Jamie Otts in “Killer Cab” and Dennis Bailey in “Silverback Gorilla.” A corn hole tournament will be held at 4 p.m. and the Kid’s Demolition Derby at 6 p.m. followed by the annual demolition derby at 7 p.m., with the Powder Puff Gang ’n Bang during the intermission.
