A local church is providing an early Thanksgiving meal Sunday to anyone who attends the church’s 6 p.m. worship service that day.
People’s Tabernacle Church is hosting the community-wide Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 24, following the one-hour church service.
Pastor Josh Franks said, ‘We have done this over the last couple years and want to continue in a way to give back to our community. We want to offer a meal for those who may not have a meal for Thanksgiving.
We wanted to offer a meal for the widow and widowers or those who may not have family to celebrate thanksgiving with. We want to bless and be a blessing to people during this time of the year.”
Franks added, “We understand times are tough but also remind people just how blessed we are. We not only want to feed you in the natural, but we also want to give you some spiritual guidance as well through God’s word.”
Everyone is welcome to attend,” he said, whether they’re a longtime local or a visitor.
“We want to give an invitation to all to come celebrate the spirit of the season with our neighbors, family, and friends. We don’t care of the who or what. Just come be with us,” Franks said.
The church noted that there will be no to-go plates, and that reservations are not required.
People’s Tabernacle Church is at 20 Airways Boulevard in Savannah. Anyone with questions can call 731-727-8242 for information.
