Single-vehicle crash claims life of Savannah man

A Savannah man died in a single-vehicle crash early this morning.
The driver who was killed, Robert J. Salgado, 33, and a passenger also from Savannah, Jessica N. Parrish, 24, who was injured, were both ejected from the 1999 Mitsubishi convertible, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Salgado was westbound on Tenn. 203 when the vehicle slid off the south side of the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned, the THP said.
The crash was reported around 2:17 a.m. and occurred a short distance outside the Savannah city limit between Horse Creek and Tenn. 226.
The THP said neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol was involved.
