Boil Water Advisory for Savannah Utility Customers

UPDATE, JAN. 24 — The Savannah Utility Department has canceled the precautionary boil water notice for all customers.

INITIAL STORY— Savannah's Utility Department announced Tuesday afternoon that it was lifting the boil water advisory for all areas within the city limits excluding Belmont Street. The department announced it's collecting samples for Belmont Street and will have the results Wednesday.

All other service areas remain under the advisory. The department said it is currently collecting samples for the remaining areas and it takes a minimum of 24 hours to run tests on the samples. The department will notify customers when clear results have been received.
