Bonnie Godwin, 78, of Savannah, passed away on Friday, Nov. 8, the daughter of the late Chester Carter and Pearl Lee Young Rich.
She was united in marriage to Lonnie Godwin, who survives.
Mrs. Godwin was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed working with her church. She dedicated her time to serving as the children’s administrator and was the director of Holy Baptist Christian School for 5 years in the Mount Hermon community in Savannah.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lonnie Godwin; daughter, Kristi Armstrong; son, Patrick Godwin; son-in-law, Jerry Carr and his wife Donna; brother, Raymond Rich and his wife Mary; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughters, Angela Kaye Carr and Lora Doreen Godwin; and brother, Kenneth Clay Rich.
Memorial services were held on Friday, Nov. 15, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah, with Dr. Jeff LaBorg officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Savannah.
