Cynthia “Dee” Williams, 92, of Decaturville, passed away and entered her heavenly home on Thursday, July 18. Mrs. Williams was born in the Old Union Community to the late Jodis “Chessie” Hopper and Mattie Idella Ganus-Hopper.
In her youth, she attended school at Morris Chapel and lived with her parents and siblings in the Hardin County area.
On May 2nd, 1970, she married her sweetheart Jerry Williams. Together, they made their home near Saltillo, Tennessee.
Mrs. Williams served the majority of her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, telling her grandchildren stories, cooking, playing Yahtzee, listening to gospel music, and worshipping at New Prospect Baptist Church in Morris Chapel where she was a member.
In addition to her husband of 54 years, Jerry Williams, she is survived by her son, Troy (Cynthia) Williams; granddaughter, Stephanie Williams; grandson Mark (Mallory) Williams; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Hope and Spencer Troy; sisters Wilma Drace and Linda Parks; and brother James Henry “Buck” Hopper.
She was preceeded in death by two brothers, J. C. Hopper Jr. and Elmer Hopper; and two sisters; Kathleen Armstrong and Faye Stowell.
Memorial services were held on Monday, July 22, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Adamsville, with Kenney Scott officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider donations to the Crump Cemetery Fund and Gideons International.
