Ernie Bigbie, 69, of Savannah, passed away on Tuesday, March 25. He was born on July 18, 1955, in Savannah, Tennessee, the son of Betty Cromwell Bigbie and the late C.W. Bigbie.
He was united in marriage to Norma Price, who survives.
Mr. Bigbie retired from the United States Postal Service and also worked with cattle and hay as a farmer. He served as county commissioner and was a first responder with the Olive Hill Fire Department. Ernie was a member of Royal Blue Rangers Club and enjoyed riding trails in his Jeep and side by side. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren on the farm. He was a member of Living Waters Foursquare Church and enjoyed playing the keyboard and helping lead worship at church.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Bigbie of Savannah, Tennessee; son, Adrian Bigbie (Sabrina) of Savannah, Tennessee; stepsons, Michael Blalock (Jessica) of Savannah, Tennessee and Nathan Blalock of Savannah, Tennessee; mother, Betty Bigbie of Savannah, Tennessee; sister, Retha Young (Greg) of Savannah, Tennessee; brother, Barry Bigbie (Tammy) of Hohenwald, Tennessee; and grandchildren, Savannah Long, Payton Long, Mackenzie Clark, Christian Sims, Alana Blalock, and Ashton Bigbie.
In addition to his father, Ernie was preceded in death by his sister, Libby Adams.
Memorial services were held on Friday, March 28, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, Tennessee, with Rev. James Fitts officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah, Tennessee.
