Evelyn Melson Chalk, 88, of Millington, Tennessee, departed this life on Tuesday, November 4, the daughter of the late Dewey Hopson and Lula Lee Shubert Melson.
She was united in marriage to J.R. Chalk, who preceded his wife in death.
Evelyn was a caregiver and raised several foster children over the years.
She is survived by her daughters, Rosa Provencio and Patricia Funk; foster child she raised for the longest, April Johnson; sister, Mae Ray; brothers, Tommy Jack Melson and Milton Lee Melson; six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her brothers, Ledford Melson and Benton Melson; and sisters, Elma Hopper, Linda Gale Kious, and Juanita Johnson.
A graveside service was held on Monday, November 10, at Old Union Cemetery in Adamsville, Tennessee, with Brent Colley officiating.
