Herbert Williams Jr.
Herbert Brooks Williams Jr., 95, of Savannah, passed away on Sunday, August 31, the son of the late Herbert Brooks Williams Sr. and Mattie Elizabeth King Williams.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Spears, who survives.
Mr. Williams retired from King Manufacturing in Corinth, Mississippi. He played with The Pickwick Fisherman Bluegrass Band, along with his brother, Roy. They performed regularly on WCMA Radio in Corinth and the Buddy Bain Show. He was the mandolin player for Leola Mills and the Keys of Bluegrass. Herbert was a licensed airplane pilot Mr. Williams was a member of Oak Hill Christian Church in Corinth, Mississippi.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Spears Williams; daughter, Lisa DeVore Stricklin; brothers, Ben Williams and Steve Williams; sisters, Jane Osborn and Linda Hamedani; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Williams, Roy Williams and Pat Williams; and sister, Mary Ann Williams.
Memorial services was held on Saturday, September 6, at Oak Hill Christian Church in Corinth, Mississippi, with Daniel Holt and Frank Williams officiating. Burial followed at Savannah Cemetery in Savannah.
