Herschel Stewart Patrick, 80, of Savannah, died on Wednesday, July 8, in Selmer.
He was born in Covington, Tennessee, the son of the late H.M. and Thelma Stewart Patrick.
He was united in marriage to Sherry Browder, who survives.
Mr. Patrick was in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he worked for Gossett Chevrolet in Memphis, Jones Motor Company in Savannah, and also owned and operated a sporting goods store in Covington. He retired as Finance Manager at Ronnie Smith Chevrolet. After retirement, he worked as a substitute teacher in Hardin County.
He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Patrick; children, Hunter Ross Petty and Jody Stuart Patrick; brother, Charles Patrick of Covington, Tennessee; sister, Mary Lynn Isome of Covington, Tennessee; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Stanley “Pete” Patrick, Shirley Glenn, and Martha Jo Morgan.
Services were held on Sunday, July 12, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with Carter Carroll officiating. Burial followed in the Clear Creek Cemetery at Selmer.
