James Robert “Bob” Hardin, 80, of Savannah, died on Sunday, July 12, in Jackson, Tennessee.
He was born in Savannah to the late Robert Gilmore “Rob” and Magdalene Clausel Hardin.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Jo Nesbitt Hardin; his children, Amanda Thomas, Michael Abrams, and Jeffery Abrams; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Elam.
Mr. Hardin was a member of the Church of Christ in Savannah.
Through his career, he worked in Atlanta, Georgia, for many years in a department store before moving back to Savannah and opening a home decorating business with his mother. Together they spent many years assisting families with home decorations and custom window treatments (made by Magdalene). Later, he served as a correctional officer at South Central Correctional Facility (SCCF) in Clifton.
Services were held on Thursday, July 16, at Savannah Church of Christ in Savannah, with Dustin Perkins officiating. Burial followed in the Olive Hill Cemetery at Olive Hill.
