Kenneth Aulton Brooks, 85, of Counce, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Hardin Medical Center Health and Rehabilitation Center under the care of Arden Hospice. He fought valiantly against his cancer. He is the son of the late Aulton B. and Evangeline Burress Brooks.
He was united in marriage to Jo Ann Coffman who preceded him in death.
He was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church and served as superintendent of Sunday school for a number of years.
Kenneth was an electrician and plumber. He was also elected to serve on the First Utility District of Hardin County and served as Vice President from 2010 to 2016.
Kenneth is survived by his sister, Doris Brooks Oswalt;; sisters- in-law, Beauton Young , Virginia Coffman and Carolyn McMeans; brother in law, Travis Thompson.
In addition to his parents and wife, Kenneth was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Thomas and Mary Eula Greer Brooks, James Franklin Burress Sr. and Nancy Allene Maxedon Burress; sisters-in- law, Dorothy Kiddy, Mary Sue Parsons, Mildred Meeks and June Thompson; and brothers-in-law, Kenneth Kiddy, William Howard “Hoss” Parsons and Deward Meeks.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Center Hill Baptist Church in Counce, with Keith Driskell officiating. Burial followed at Lebanon Cemetery of Michie in Michie, Tennessee.
