Mamie Sue Counce Blakney, 86, of Counce, departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 17, the daughter of the late Fred and Edith Battles Counce.
She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Lowell Blakney, who preceded her in death. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Counce, Tennessee.
She is survived by her daughters, Angie Blakney and Carol Blakney; one grandchild; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mamie was preceded in death by her son, William Lowell Blakney; and sister, Emma Prentiss.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 20, at the Shanghai Cemetery in Counce, with Paul Childers officiating.
