Martin Butler
Martin Hay Butler, 84, of Linden, Tennessee, departed this life on Thursday, Oct. 30, in Decatur County, Tennessee, the son of the late Henry Arthur and Clarice Lucille Daniel Butler.
He was united in marriage to Stella Elizabeth Kyle, who survives.
Mr. Butler honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, where he received the National Defense Service Medal. He later worked as a truck driver for Dana Corporation.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Stella Elizabeth Butler; daughters, Mary Butler Erskin , Patty Butler Brown , and Stephanie Butler Hillery; eight grandchildren; and 15 great- grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Martin was preceded in death by his son, Martin Arthur Butler; and half sisters, Susie Mae Lawson and Mary Kathleen Lawson.
Memorial services were held on Wednesday, November 4, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with George Kyle officiating. Burial followed at Lutts Cemetery in Lutts, Tennessee.
