Marvin Kennedy, 88, of Henderson, Tennessee, died on Friday, August 7, in Henderson.
He was born in Scotts Hill, Tennessee, the son of the late C.C. and Lena Grimsley Kennedy.
He was united in marriage to Peggy Shannon, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Kennedy honorably served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a carpenter until his retirement. He was a longtime member of Lebanon United Methodist Church and a recent member of Pinson Baptist Church. He was a Sunday School teacher, song leader, and director.
He is survived by his son, Tony Ross; daughter, Shannon Hearn; brothers, Fred Kennedy and Terry Kennedy; sisters, Carolyn Bowman and Donna Scott; four grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Greenway and brother, Dale Kennedy.
Services were held on Wednesday, August 12, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah with Dylan McMinn officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
