Mary Lou Barnett Oliver, 66, of Savannah, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 8. She was born in Ridegly, Tennessee, on August 30, 1959, to her parents the late Mr. Claude Barnett and Mrs. Bessie Leona Hodge Brown. In her young adult years she would marry her husband, William Oliver, in 1986. The two would make Savannah, Tennessee, their home raising their daughter and setting roots in Hardin County.
The two would remain married until his passing on June 25, 2025. She was a homemaker who prioritized her familial duties and cherished her family. She was of the Christian faith and in her leisure time she could be found reading and watching her favorite television shows “Lassie,” the” Waltons,” and “Little House on the Prairie.” However, she held no other moment closest to her heart than the time she spent with family and friends.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter Mary Ann Gooch and husband Joshua of Savannah, Tennessee; siblings Joyce Mitchell and husband Jim H. of Savannah, Tennessee, Dennis Barnett of Missouri, and Teresa Petree of New Mexico; granddaughter, Alyssa Paige Gooch; as well as many other family, friends and dear loved ones.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her stepfather Woodrow Brown; and siblings, Linda Milam, James Barnett, David A. Brown and WC Rose.
