Christmas season is upon us and Savannah’s popular holiday parade returns tonight.

The city, along with the Savannah Rotary Club, present the annual Christmas parade on Monday, Dec. 4, at 6:30 p.m.

This year’s theme is “Mistletoe Memories,” and parade organizer Paige Ashe-McLean said she is predicting a lot of participants.

“We had 74 official entries last year with over 100 floats, vehicles and participants. We are hoping to surpass that this year,” she said.

The entry divisions are: Corporate, Church, Business, Civic, Individuals, and Government.

“The Rotary has helped coordinate the city’s Christmas parade for 23 years as a community service. It has grown to an amazing and spectacular parade. Our judges from other counties have been amazed at the level of participation and the beauty of the floats. I have loved seeing the faces of all ages when Christmas lights and music pass by them,” Ashe-McLean said.

She concluded, “The roads are always lined with spectators, usually before 5 p.m. that day. I think the parade is a staple of the holiday season and really puts our community in the Christmas spirit.”
