Mother Weatherspoon

Mother Weatherspoon, 90, of Nashville, Tennessee, departed this life on Thursday, December 18, the daughter of the late George and Mamie Burns.
She was united in holy matrimony to Frank Weatherspoon.
At the age of 30, Mother Weatherspoon accepted Christ as her personal Savior at Love Tabernacle COGIC. She served faithfully as President of the Hospitality Board and was a member of the choir.
She lovingly served as a nanny for Dr. and Mrs. Gallien, and later continued her caregiving with Dr. and Mrs. Cindy Rogers, until relocating to Marietta, Georgia, where she worked for Charlie and Tammy Bailey.
She is survived by her children, Ricky Weatherspoon, Vick Weatherspoon, Raymond Weatherspoon, Don Weatherspoon, Herbert Weatherspoon, and Hope Weatherspoon; brother, Freddy Burns; sister, Trudy Pitts; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great‑grandchildren.
Mother Weatherspoon was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Frank Weatherspoon; her parents, George and Mamie Burns; her granddaughter, LaTeshia Weatherspoon; her sisters, Georgia Hollingsworth and Joanne Weatherspoon; and her brothers, Bill Bailey and Edward Burns.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, December 27, at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Savannah, Tennessee, with Cleophas Cherry officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah, Tennessee.
