Sammy “Sam” G. Gary, 78, of Savannah, died on Thursday, September 3, in Savannah.
He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee the son of the late David Gary and Martha Ann Ruth Gary.
He was united in marriage to June Anita McBride, who survives.
Mr. Gary served his country proudly in the United States Army. While living in Scotts Hill, Tennessee, he was a welder for Savannah Machine Shop in Savannah, Carl Wallace Welding in Decaturville, Tennessee, and J.M. Brasher Welding Shop in Scotts Hill, Tennessee.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Cristal Nowlin of Savannah; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one sister, Brenda Gary of Savannah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Steven Gary; and his grandparents, Morgan and Annabelle Ruth.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, October 2, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah in Savannah.
