TBI: Arrests made in human trafficking operation in McNairy County

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Monday an undercover operation in McNairy County targeting human trafficking in west Tennessee has resulted in multiple arrests, plus a Savannah man being cited on a charge of patronizing prostitution.

According to the TBI, over a two-day period beginning on July 14, authorities placed several decoy advertisements on websites the state law enforcement agency said are linked to prostitution and commercial sex cases. The focus of the operation was to identify individuals seeking to engage in commercial sex acts with minors.

Six people were arrested as a result of the operation, five of whom were booked into the McNairy County Jail. One person was arrested on an outstanding warrant and was not identified by the TBI Monday. A seventh person was cited in lieu of arrest.

The TBI named the following as being charged in connection with the operation.

•Jonathan Jarmon, 46, Brownsville, Tennessee – Two counts of trafficking for commercial sex act, $75,000 bond

•James Johnson, 49, Whiteville, Tennessee – Two counts of trafficking for commercial sex act, $75,000 bond

•Sara McCants, 32, Corinth, Mississippi – Promoting prostitution, $25,000 bond

•Jason Parker, 45, Middleton, Tennessee – One count of trafficking for commercial sex act, $75,000 bond

•Kenneth Pollard, 46, Corinth, Mississippi – Two counts of trafficking for commercial sex act, $75,000 bond

•Gregory Waters, 63, Savannah, Tennessee – Cited on a charge of patronizing prostitution

The operation involved the TBI Human Trafficking Unit, McNairy County Sheriff’s Office, Selmer Police Department, Adamsville Police Department, Tennessee Human Trafficking Task Force, Department of Human Services–Homeland Security Investigations, working in cooperation with the Office of 25th District Attorney General Mark Davidson, the TBI said.
