Waldo Barron, 93, of Savannah, departed this life on Tuesday, April 15. He was born on December 14, 193, in Kilmichael, Mississippi, to William Flavus Barron and Blanche McNeer Barron.
In 1950, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he served for four years.
He is survived by his daughter, Terri Durham of Savannah, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Shirley Hurt Barron of Savannah, Tennessee; sister, Sarah Lynn George of Madison, Mississippi; grandchildren, Brent Barron and his wife Loren, Holley Smith, Michael Jackson, and Christopher Jackson and his wife Toni; and great grandchild, Brady Chandler.
In addition to his parents, Waldo was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Dillon Barron; son, William Daniel “Dan” Barron; and brother, Wendell Flavus Barron.
Private services were held at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, Tennessee, with Josh Alexander and Bob Armstrong officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah, Tennessee.
