Aubrey Gurley

Aubrey Lee Gurley, 87, of Guys, Tenn., died Friday, March 8, at his residence.

He was the son of the late Levi and Elizabeth Wallace Gurley. He was united in marriage to Ethelyne McCarter, who survives.

Mr. Gurley was a retired carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and returned home with a purple heart. He was a member of Acton Church of Christ.

Services were held Monday, March 11, at the Corinthian Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Eaton officiating. Burial was in Henry Cemetery.

In addition to his wife Ethelyne Gurley of Guys, he is survived by a son, Richard Gurley and daughter, Debbie Shannon; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Clay and J.C. Gurley; and sisters, Clara Mae Crabb and Blanche Reeder.
