Barbara McLin

Barbara McLin was born in Hardin County, on Dec. 7, 1942, the daughter of Ruby Gillis Downing and the late Hassell Ernest Downing. On March 7, 1960, she was united in marriage to Hubert McLin, who survives.

Mrs. McLin was the owner of Village Market Store. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and she enjoyed going to Tunica, Miss.

She departed this life on Aug. 1, in Savannah, at the age of 67 years, 7 months and 25 days.

In addition to her husband, Hubert "Jack" of Savannah, she is survived by two daughters, Donna Garrard of Savannah and Kelly Long of Collinwood, Tenn.; two sons, Scottie McLin of Savannah and Hassell McLin of Olive Hill, Tenn.; her mother, Ruby Gillis Downing; 11 grandchildren, Jeffery Garrard, Brittany Umphrey, Nicole Long, D. J. Long, Cody McLin, Christopher McLin, Riley McLin, Braden McLin, Scott McLin, Tyler McLin and Jacquline McLin; two sisters, Wanda French of Savannah and Kay Jones of St. Louis, Mo.; four step-grandchildren, Colby Stricklin, Lindsey Stricklin, Denver Rainwater and Easten Rainwater; three great-grandchildren, Whitney Garrard, Carson Umphrey and Connor Umphrey.

In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Wayne Downing and Hassell Ernest Downing.

Services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 3 p.m., at Olive Hill Community Church in Olive Hill, with Jim Middleton officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County.
