Rev. Billy Malone White, of Crump, was born on July 23, 1944, in Hardin County, the son of Kate Cherry White and the late William Floyd White.
On Feb. 3, 1968, he was united in marriage to Shirley Boswell White, who survives.
Prior to his work in the ministry, he served his country in the United States National Guard. Rev. Billy White served as the assistant pastor for six years at New Life United Pentecostal Church, as the associate pastor for 19 years at Christian Assembly United Pentecostal Church, and as the pastor for 12 years at River Heights United Pentecostal Church. He was a member of New Life United Pentecostal Church in Savannah and lived in Hardin County all of his life. He always loved working and being with the church people. Billy enjoyed coin collecting and was a great cook. He also loved studying history, especially reading about all the different wars.
Rev. Billy Malone White departed this life on Friday, Dec. 30, at the age of 72 years, 5 months, 7 days.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley White of Crump; son, Jeremy White and his wife Carrie of Nashville; brother, Steve N. White and his wife Judy of Collierville, Tennessee; sister, Penny Petersen and her husband Jim of Hampton, Virginia; sister-in-law, Juanita White of Germantown, Tennessee; mother, Kate Cherry White of Savannah; and two grandchildren, Chandler Malone White and Logan Wilson White.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Floyd White Jr.
Services were held on Monday, Jan. 2, at 11 a.m., at New Life United Pentecostal Church in Savannah, with Larry Adair, Ronald Brown and Jeremy White officiating. Burial followed in Crump Cemetery at Crump.
