Bobby Grinder

Bobby Grinder, 73, of Savannah, died Wednesday, July 14, in Savannah.

He was born in Hohenwald, Tenn., the son of the late Raymond Early Grinder Sr. and Velma Barber Grinder. He was united in marriage to Johna Ruth Beatty, who survives.

Mr. Grinder retired from the United States Civil Engineer Corps. He was lay minister at Evan’s Chapel and Polk’s Chapel United Methodist Church from 2002 to 2008. He was a member of Eureka United Methodist Church and was a member of Woodmen of the World.

Services were held on Saturday, July 17, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Don Lee officiating. Burial was in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.

In addition to his wife, Johna Ruth of Savannah, he is survived by one daughter, Joy Strain of Mercer, Penn.; one son, Jon Grinder of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Grinder Godsey of Harriman, Tenn.; two brothers, Raymond Grinder Jr. of Nashville and Sam Grinder of Cookeville, Tenn.
